Having been shortlisted for the Team of the Year along with Boots M1's, Wapping M1's and Richmond M1's the Tavisock Men's first team travelled to Reading for the England Hockey awards ceremony. Former Great Britain keeper Simon Mason hosted the evening and announced that Tavistock were the winners of this years award. Being shorlisted was a fantastic achievement but to win the award is a fitting end to what has been a remarkable season for the men, the trophy was presented by Surbiton and GB player Sarah Haycroft. All four teams achievanble considerable success during the season: Boots, won their league comfortably by 12 points, also reached semi final of the HA VASE losing to the eventual winners: Wapping, won East Premier 1 and have been promoted the National league for the first time in the clubs History - they play their games at the Olympic Park in Lee valley, London: Richmond, coached by former South African international Gareth Carr, they won the National League East Conference therefore reaching the play offs, they unfortunately missed out on promotion to the premier League via the play offs so will remain in the East Conference meaning they are still one of the top 40 teams in the country.
With a number of the England ladies in attendance at the event the Tavistock players were joined on their tables by international stars Susie Gilbert and Devon born Giselle Ansley.
