Easter Camp 2016

This week saw record numbers attend the clubs Easter Camp with 157 places over 3 days. The 3 day camp was again run in partnership with Mount Kelly College and Wasp Hockey. The hockey took place on the school pitches, Tuesday and Thursday on the main pitch but with the pitch on the prep site also being used on the Wednesday. The camp also made use of the fine canteen facilities for lunch which was provided by the school with the children also being able to use the school swimming pool for the last hour of the day. All those who attended looked good in their t-shirts which again were supplied by Wasp Hockey.
The team of coaches were led superbly by Mens 1st team player Barney Megicks, Barney sadly leaves the club this Summer as he goes to Universtity but hopefully he will return to help at future camps. Other coaches included Men's 1st team captain Tom Honey as well as team mates Dom Stanbury, Sam Willetts and Ryan Passmore. Ladies 1st team captain Janice Scott and team mates Jenny Pollock and Katy Kelly made up the coaching team.
With 157 places over the 3 days it was the biggest of the camps that the club has run, the Summer camp will run August 23-25 inclusive with our guest coach to be named in the next few days.
The future looks bright for the club with so many youngsters enjoying hockey and showing a great deal of potential and also the number of dedicated coaches who make these sort of events so successful.
