Ladies 1st team: Okehampton 4-5 Tavistock
The ladies 1's started the season with a hard fought victory away to local rivals Okehampton, Tavistock raced into an early 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Becky Lamb, Sarah Law and a fine solo effort from captain Laura Armstrong. Okehampton fought back with 2 goals late in the first half, an early goal in the second half drew them level before a further goal from influential player Jo Moppet gave them a 4-3 lead. Tavistock showed great determination to hit back within 2 minutes thanks to forward Jo Gaspar and then in the last 30 seconds a decisive run down the right from Becky Lamb led to player of the match Robynne Fenwick calmly slotting the winning goal past the Okehampton keeper.
Ladies 2nd team: Plym Vally 1-1 Tavistock
The ladies 2nd team put in a fine performance in their first match of the season against Plym Valley, captained by Chloe Grubb the 2's earned a 1-1 draw with Thea Crosby scoring the goal.
Men's 1st team: PGSOB 0-6 Tavistock
The men's 1st team has a tough start to the season away to PGSOB's who had just been relegated from South 2. Tavistock started well, creating numerous chances in front of goal before they eventually took the lead mid way through the first half. Tavistock maintained the pressure on their opponents and went in at the half time break with a 4-0 lead, goals coming from Si Fenwick (2) and Will jones (2). Tavistock continued to apply pressure in the second half and were rewarded by 2 further goals thanks to Andy Berry and Will Jones who completed his hatrick.
Men's 2nd team: Tavistock 1-12 Caradon
Tavistock had a tough start to the league as they welcomed Caradon to Mount Kelly astro, Caradon were unfortunate to be relegated last season and were keen to state their intentions of a quick return back to South 2. After a competitive a even first half Tavistock ran out of steam in the second half and Caradon capatalised scoring a number of goals in quick succession. Nick Andrews scored Tavistocks only goal with a well taken reverse stick shot in the 12-1 defeat.
