Mens 1st Team; CSOM 2-3 Tavistock Man of Match Matt Graham

Tavistock gained another 3 points in what proved to be a very difficult away fixture. The Reds were keen to avenge last season's defeat, a result which ultimately cost them the chance of promotion and an immediate return to South 1.  Tavistock were missing defenders Paul Marchant and Rorry Carr but welcomed back Ollie Richards, Henry Chamberlain, Ryan Passmore, Pete Hutchings and Will Jones.  Tavistock took an earlier lead through Si Fenwick following fantastic work from  Ollie Richards, Richards picked up the ball on the half way line and was able to run through the Camborne defence as if they weren't even there.  Another quick counter attack from Camborne drew then level shortly after the opening goal, the sides went in 1-1 at half time although CSOM could easily have been leading if it wasn't for the fine form of MoM Matt Graham in the Tavistock goal.  Fenwick rifled in his second of the game following a good build up play and decisive pass from midfielder Andy Berry, the Reds began to pile on the pressure and could have scored enough goals to put the result beyond doubt had it not been for the CSOM keeper making a number of saves to deny Stanbury, Richards, Chamberlain and Sargent-Megicks.  Tavistock did score a third from a well executed penalty corner, Fenwick claimed his second hatrick of the season and 15th goal in total thanks to a pass across the D from Berry.  There was a tense finsh to the game following a second CSOM goal and a red card being given to Tavistock defender Jim Harding, Tavistock slowed the tempo of the game maitaining possession of the ball and sensibly ran down the clock to claim their 5th win of the season.

Men's 2nd team: Tavistock A 2  Truro C 2

This was a much improved performance by Tavistock and they were unlucky not to take all three points.  With a great team effort, work rate and communication, the performance was lifted 100%/. From the start, Tavistock dominated possession and the lively front line of Elliott, Andrews and Walker kept pressuring the visiting defence.  After some great interplay from the midfield between Hanson and Honey, the ball was moved to Elliott who slotted in from a tight angle.  The pressure continued and Tavistock came close more than once to doubling the score. Donnelly slipping into the front maintained the effort and Venton supported well and moved the ball around.  Against the run of play, Truro managed to slip into the back of the D and poke in a loose ball. Tavistick did not let this impacyt on their play and continued to work the ball well through the channels.  At the start of the second half, Tavistock started to feel the pressure themselves, as Truro increased their own momentum and started to dominate possession. It was during this period that the home side went a goal behind from a well taken penalty corner.  Tavistock started to work themselves back into the game and after an inspired substitution, Anning screda dynamic shrt corner with a hard strike. Tavistock continued to pressure but could not manage to capture the full deserved points.  Thanks must go to the umpires, who maintained a calm control through a challenging game.

Ladies 2nd Team: won 7-0 against Plym Uni 4ths

An excellent performance from Tavistock 2nds in their first home match of the season.  Play started slowly as the team got used to some different players and positions, but ten minutes in the first goal came as Alice Donne made a run up the left wing and slotted the goal past the keeper.  This was quickly followed by another goal from Alice placed in the corner.  Despite the lack of space in the D Meg Benton managed to knock the ball in off the keeper's kickers.  A fantastic cross from Thea Crosby was tapped into the goal by Vicky Moore who was in the perfect position on the post.  Rosie Crosby made terrific use of her powerful hit to score the next goal.  A short corner just before half time saw the defence push up and get involved, Nicky Wood had a shot but it was Bridget Passmore who managed to get the ball past the keeper!

The second half was much more even, with Tavistock having to do some work to keep the ball out of danger.  Alice Donne scored a hat trick with her third goal being lifted past the keeper.  An excellent game played in great spirits by all.
