Ladies 1st team: Tavistock 6-1 Plym Valley
Tavistock bounced back from last weeks disappointing home defeat with a victory away to Plymouth based Plym Valley. Tavistock started well forcing the Valley keeper into action early on. Becky Lamb gave Tavistick a deserved lead with a deflection at the far post following a well executed penalty corner. Captain Laura Armstrong soon added a 2nd with a powerful shot that the valley keeper was unable to deal with. Just before the break, forward Jo Gaspar tapped in at the back post to end another successful attack. Early in the second half Tavistock lost new Summer signing Janice Scott through injury following a ball being deflected to her face. A quick re shuffle saw centre back Elz Mills-Hicks moved into the midfield, Tavistock maintained the pressure with Player of the Match Becky Lamb scoring 2 quick goals to complete her hatrick. Right back Hannah Colston capped another great performance with a rare goal after converting from another penalty corner. Plym Valley scored a late consolation goal from a penalty corner.
Mens 1st team: Tavistock 2-4 ISCA C
Tavistock travelled to Exeter full of confidence following 2'wins in their opening 2 games and were bolstered by the return of captain Tom Honey although they did miss influential striker Ollie Richards who was a late omission from the side. ISCA fielded a very experienced side which included players with National League and international experience including goal keeper Robbie Brown. ISCA started the better with some flowing hockey and hit Tavistock with 2 early goals both from penalty corners. The reds managed to play themselves into the game creating some good chances but were unable to beat Brown in goal. Tavistock did get the goal they deserved from a penalty corner, Fenwick flicking high to the keepers right. Disappointingly for Tavistock, ISCA converted another corner on the stroke of half time to go in to the break with a 3-1 lead, following the corner Tavistock keeper Matt Graham was yellow carded. 10 man Tavistock defended well early in the 2nd half with defender Pete Hutchings taking on the role of kicking back. With the clock running down ISCA converted their 4th penalty corner of the game, Tavistock kept fighting and with 5 minutes remaining won a penalty stroke which was converted by Fenwick for his 6th goal of the season.
Mens 2nd team: Tavistock 0-4 Plymouth Marjon C
Another week of steady improvement, witnessed a much more solid performance from Tavistock, although the score line suggests otherwise.
The opposition were a skilful and mobile side and Tavistock had to stick to their guns to hold the attacking side at bay for the first quarter of the game.
The match was very much an end to end display, with Tavistock holding a solid defense and also counter attacking at speed through Walker, Elliott and Crossley.
Match day captain, Gott organised the defense well, which allowed Anning to hold the midfield. One small lapse allowed the visitors to get through and poke the first goal under Osborne.
The game continued to ebb and flow, but Marjon managed to put their chances away, of which two goals were perfect strikes and Tavistock missed a few opportunities that could have brought the score line closer.

Tavistock Ladies 2nds victorious over Plymouth Uni 4ths
Despite being a player down Tavistock went out enthusiastic and determined, controlling play from the push back and gaining a quick first goal from a converted short corner with a shot from Thea Crosby excellently deflected by Rosie Crosby. This great teamwork between Crosby sisters continued with three more goals in the first half giving Tavistock a 4-0 lead at half time.
Tavistock went out strong in the second half, determined not to concede any goals. An early goal came from Judy Lowton and another followed with a well placed cross from Becca Martin knocked in by Rosie Crosby who then scored again shortly after. The team kept their structure and their work rate up allowing a cross from Becca Martin to be tapped in by Judy Lowton.
Tavistock maintained possession throughout much of the game, though when Plymouth Uni did break through goalkeeper Eleanor Mills-Hicks was there to clear the ball; one of these clearances was picked up by Becca Martin, passed to new recruit Chezzie Moore and moved on to Rosie Crosby who found the back of the net. The pace continued to be kept up and a ball crossed over the goal by Thea Crosby was converted by Judy Lowton. The final goal was scored when Rosie dribbled round the defence and slotted the ball past the keeper.
