The back line of Colston, Mills-Hicks, Pollock and Boulle were proving a tough line to crack but in the odd occasion the visitors broke through keeper Viggers was out quickly to deny Eagles from scoring a consolation goal. Tavistock kept control of the game throughout the second half and saw another attacking opportunity following some great linking from forwards Lamb and Lindsay which set Armstrong up with her second goal of the game, following a nicely taking goal on her reverse. Men's 1st Team Tavistock 5-0 Truro
Following the disappointment of last weeks game away at Bodmin being called off at half time due to a flooded pitch the Reds were keen to get another 3 points on the board at home to Truro. Tavistock picked up where they left off before Christmas and went into the half time break 5-0 up thanks to goals from Mark Forshaw, Ollie Richards and a hatrick from Si Fenwick. Devon Trophy 1/4 Final Tavistock 4-2 PMHC
Having already met in the league and with Tavistock winning 4-2 this cup game was expected to be a close encounter as Marjons currently sit third in the league table albeit 11 points behind the Reds. The home side took the lead in the first five minutes when inform striker Mark Forshaw added to his impressive goal tally with a powerful drag flick from the games opening penalty corner. Si Fenwick soon added a second thanks to some good approach play most notably from Richards and skipper Honey. Marjons got themselves back into the game when former Welsh international Clive O'Sillivan dispossessed Fenwick inside the Tavistock D and riffled the ball past Grahame, their joy was short lived as they presented the ball to Forshaw who eliminated one defender before unleashing a powerful reverse stick effort past the keeper. The home side put the game beyond any doubt when Josh Walker cleverly deflected a Forshaw effort into the goal at the far post, as Marjons pushed to try and once again get back into the game they were unable to do so as they found the ever impressive Stanbury impassable at the back, Stanbury marshalled his defensive backline of Carr, Honey and Langton. The visitors did score a second when John Smith converted a well worked penalty corner routine but it was too little too late as Tavistock progressed into the Semi Final.
