Men's First Team: Tavistock 5-1 ISCA
This game marked the half stage of the season and Tavistock were looking to maintaining their impressive start to the season. The Reds started well and took the lead inside ten minutes thanks to a clever finish from Bob Carr, the Tavistock forward showed the composure to take a touch and slip the ball on the turn pat the keeper following a fast flowing passing move involving Honey, Richards and Megicks. Mount Kelly student Ben Hancox scored for the third consecutive game with an instinctive following a pin point cross field pass from Rory Carr. Carr (Bob) was unlucky to have a later effort disallowed when his is attempt on goal, reminiscent of an Andy Murray serve was not given. Tavistock extended their lead early in the second half when Richards carried the ball forwards into the ISCA half before finding Fenwick who was able to beat his man before smashing the ball past the keeper, Fenwick doubled his tally for the game with a penalty flick he won after a being set up in front of goal by an incisive pass from skipper Tom Honey. Barney Megicks scored the final goal for Tavistock with a well taken reverse stick effort, the visitors scored the last goal of the game but it was too little too late for them. The win keeps Tavistock 5 points clear of Duchy in second place and 11 points clear of PMHC who moved into third place today. Next week, the Reds host Sodmouth and Ottery in the last game before the Christmas break.
