Tavistock Mens 1st recorded their biggest win of the season when an avalanche of goals were scored at Mount Kelly versus Duchy 3rds in their last home game of the season. Tavy opened the scoring when Mark Forshaw scored his trademark drag flick from the first conceded short corner by the visiting team. Nick Andrews then got on the score sheet by firing a rapid quick fire double to take the half time score to only 3 nil to Tavy, which was surprising given their total dominance. The home team came fast out of the blocks and the flurry of goals came in super fast time. Tom Honey opened his account, which was soon followed by Forshaw smashing in his second and third of the game and then Jonny Eliiot who was ice cool in front of goal also scored a quick double to take the score up to 8 nil within only ten minutes of the restart. It looked to be all down hill for Duchy but incredibly against the total run of play, Duchy scored after an initial immense double save from keeper Matt Grahame. This spurred Tavy to search for more goals and they duly obliged in Forshaw smashing in his fourth of the day, Captain Josh Walker scored two, followed by a double from Honey to complete his hat trick. Not to be out done Elliot snow ploughed his way into the D and flicked over the advancing keeper to make it 14 - 1 to Tavy. The final goal was like someone on the giant slalom course, where Dom Walker weaved in and out of several tackles and expertly fired across the keeper to make it an emphatic 15 -1 win for Tavistock. This was a great team performance and man of the match was shared out amongst the team. A win next week against Truro will confirm Tavistock as league champions in what has been an excellent season.
