Match Report |
A cold damp morning saw Tavistock playing at home against Plym Valley and with a two week break all were keen and raring to go! Having beat Plym Valley at the start of the season Tavi were once again looking for another convincing win. Immediate attacking play from Tavi resulted in a short corner and only a great save by the Plym Valley goalie stopped an early goal, however within a few minutes a great run by Alex Davis and Lois Thornton in the left field and a nice tap of the ball into Jamie Bulbring sees Tavistock a goal up. Constant pressure from the Tavi mid field and forwards see several attempts on goal and a great run by player of the match Annalise Wright sees Tavistock two goals up. An unsuccessful short corner from Plym Valley leads to an attacking run by Jamie and Tavistock score their third. A great tap by Nicky Wood off a short corner and going into the break Tavi are 4 nil up. With Tavistock playing smart and skilful hockey the team talk during the break was quick but uplifting and going into the second half Tavistock were still the attacking team, continuing in the same vain as the first half. A great ball fed in by Chezzie Moore to Jamie sees goal number five. With the Tavistock defence working hard and feeding the ball high up the pitch Jamie scores her 3rd goal. 6 nil to Tavistock. Unfortunately a lapse in concentration sees Plym Valley score two quick goals, taking the final score to 6-2. Overall a great performance by the whole team and with newbies Olivia Kinnear and Georgie Morris making a fine contribution to the final score, Tavistock 2nds are going from strength to strength. Next Sunday Tavistock are at home to Kingsbridge.
