Tavistock Ladies 2nd team hosted OPM and with a draw in the previous game it was all to play for.
OPM made the stronger start and with a few attempts at goal going wide and Tracey Wright clearing the ball from the OPM goal line, Tavistock were fortunate not to be behind.
Unlike previous weeks Tavistock were not having it all their own way and were lacking the fluidity previously displayed. However with the Tavistock defence working tirelessly they were able to feed the ball through creating a short corner thus resulting in a cracking goal from Nicky Wood.
After a short delay caused by a goalie wardrobe malfunction the restart proved fruitful for Tavistock scoring two more goals. A lovely tap from Sandra Collar and a rebound for Sophie Russell, Tavistock at half time were 3 nil up.
Whatever was said in the team talk at the break had the desired effect and Tavistock were back on track and the goals were coming thick and fast.
A lovely run by Annalise Wright saw the 4th goal and a rebound from a short corner made number 5 for Alice Woolcock.
Number 6 was scored by Alice’s twin Ella Woolcock and number 7 by Annalise Wright. Judy Lowton then scored her hatrick taking the total to 10. A thoroughly entertaining match on a chilly morning but once again Tavistock Ladies have won convincingly against tricky opponents. Player of the match was Lois Thornton.
